Kat and Irene met through Bruce, as she’s married to Xavi, one of the groomsman. Their friendship grew through spirited Latino dance parties at her home, celebrating holidays with their kids, and ringing in the New Year together. Traveling to Guadalajara

When booking your flights, you can choose to fly out of Los Angeles, LAX (nonstop flight 3 hrs) or use the CBX bridge to fly from San Diego to Guadalajara (nonstop flight 2.5 hrs). We highly recommend taking an Uber or taxi from the airport to your hotel for a smooth and hassle-free arrival. 🌤️ Weather Forecast:Typically, the weather in Guadalajara during our wedding should be mid 70s to 80s with sunny conditions. We recommend packing light layers for the warmer days.

The Cross Border Xpress (CBX) is a great alternative to LAX. It offers shorter wait times, lower airfare, and a direct pedestrian bridge connecting San Diego to Tijuana Airport (TIJ), making border crossing seamless. With cheaper parking, fewer crowds, and more direct flights to Guadalajara, CBX saves time and hassle compared to the congestion and long lines at LAX. Bruce and I have used the CBX bridge multiple times and can share our experience if you have any questions! On our last trip, it took us only about 25 minutes from parking to reaching our gate.

We’ve reserved a room block at Hyatt Regency Andares Guadalajara for our wedding guests. This is the hotel where all shuttle pick-ups and drop-offs will take place, so we’d love for everyone to stay here for convenience. To receive the special group rate, please book your room using the link below or mention our wedding when you call the hotel. Cut off date to book is March 5th, 2026. This hotel is a little further from the hotel shuttle location however a great alternative. We have personally stayed here and love the spacious rooms!

One of the most significant aspects of Hospicio Cabañas is its chapel, adorned with a series of monumental frescoes by the acclaimed Mexican muralist José Clemente Orozco.Painted between 1937 and 1939, these murals include the famous "El Hombre de Fuego" ("The Man of Fire").

You can’t visit Guadalajara without trying a torta ahogada a local classic that literally means “drowned sandwich.” Torta Hogada - It’s made with crusty birote bread, stuffed with juicy carnitas (slow-cooked pork), and then completely drenched in a spicy tomato-chile sauce. It’s messy, it’s delicious, and it’s a rite of passage in Jalisco.
